I use a small conduit pole attached to my open rafters in the basement and added shower curtain hooks to attach the quilt to photograph it. My quilt frame is usually in the photo too but it can't be helped. I added another conduit pole across my garage roll-up door so I could photograph the larger quilts outside in good weather. I use hooks that hook over the rod after I've already attached them to the quilt 1st. Works great in good weather but not in the winter time here.

When the weather is nice I use my clothesline. When the weather is not so nice I lay the quilt on a bed. In my home all the ceilings are really low. Too low to hang a larger quilt. I do have problems photographing large quilts in my home. No place big enough to spread it out or hang it.
