What size would a picnic quilt be? I googled searched it and they are any where from 36X36 which I would assume would be more to put on a table if you on a picnic. Then there was 86X86 which would be more for on the ground but would probably fit 6 people. What would the average size be for 2 people? Thank you

I would think maybe 72 x 72. Or that is the size that I would make.

I made mine about 44 x 44. Just the size of the fabric but square. I made them for my kids to carry in their cars. But then I did not make an actual pieced quilt. I was practicing FMQ and thought it would be a good way to learn and practice and still make something useful. It was a good way to learn binding as well. The kids loved them too.

It depends on how you are planning to use it. If you want to be able to stretch out and lay on it after the picnic, 72 X 72 would be a good size :D:D:D
