I'm having TROUBLES again with this sewing machine. I have had it oiled and tuned up, so that is NOT the issue. I think I honestly just cannot get the tension right. SO if you have this machine and could maybe walk me through my issue, this would be FABULOUS!!!!
My fabric keeps getting caught inside where the bobbin goes. I have rethreaded, put new thread in, made a new bobbin, changed the needle. Played wit the tension numbers, and I still have NO CLUE WHAT I"M DOING WIT THIS MACHINE! PLEASE HELP!! I have NOT been able t sew in over a MONTH NOW< I'm going stir crazy!!!

I have a viking 875 Q i had problems until i figured out i wasnt threading it right also wasnt threading the bobbin right. Make sure you go step by step and closely read all the directions. I had my machine for about 6 months before i figured it out. If all else fails call the dealer. My machine does not need to be oiled check the directions for that. Good luck!

If the fabric " keeps getting caught inside where the bobbin goes" you need to look into getting a single hole plate. Also, if the needle is not sharp or too large, it will force the fabric into the hole. It's not a tension issue. Try changing your needle and trying a bit smaller size.

I don't have this machine but if it is pulling the fabric down only when you start to sew you can try starting a little further in, then backstitching to the edge, then sewing forward again or you can try using leaders. My machine is bad about pulling the fabric down if I'm doing points and so far I haven't seen a single hole plate for it. Good luck. It is soooo frustrating to not be able to get machines to work.

I have a Platinum 755Q.
If you are getting loops on top, you may be threading the machine incorrectly. The presser foot must be in the up position, when threading. If not, the thread will not be seated correctly between the tension disks.
When filling your bobbins, be sure the raised logo on the plastic bobbin is facing upwards. You are using Viking plastic bobbins, right? The logo should be facing upwards when filling the bobbin and when inserting the bobbin into the bobbin case under the top cover. You should also feel a click, when the thread is properly threaded in the bobbin case.
