I just finished a huge one this week. It is quite a simple block to assemble following Bonnie's instructions linked above.
I used browns and teals, using the 2.5" strips, followed by three borders, 1.5" squares, the extra cuts discarded from assembly of the blocks and another 1.5" border.

One of the fastest quilts I've ever made, but I had all the inner cutting done before I started sewing.

This is what I managed to get in my EQ5 this morning. Also, yesterday, my sister gave me advice on doing the ends. I may give this a try in the next few days. I have seen some gorgeous ones online.

From your version of the quilt block to Quiltville's, I wonder if you are talking about a different quilt. Could you give us a link to the one that you are doing? Everyone that I have found look like Bonnie Hunter's. I haven't seen one that has the corners similar to yours.

I had found an EQ looking version online and then drew it up in mine. Either version looks pretty to me. I just want to see if I can do it. I do not actually have a link. Sorry.

I also made one and loved it, easy to make.
A friend of mine made one in Christmas colors.

Any of them would be very pretty. Colors change the looks of them.

I made this quilt with a group of friends. We put sashing between the blocks. It is easy and went quickly

Wow...these are so cool looking. I'm going to try this next using the scraps from my current quilt and some additional contrasting fabrics. Pics of quilts are really gorgeous.
