I am sure this has been discussed...but am resorting and folding all my fabric and need to ask...do I need to cover these bookshelves?
I have a lot of light in the room but so far have found only one piece with a faded strip from exposure.
We have E windows which are suppose to protect from fading and the bookcases are located beside the wall that makes the closet.
I will try to send pics later...need batteries for the camera.
Would like input from you all with experience.
Thank you for your answers or references to info.
Susan

Hi Susan
Half my fabric is open on shelves, half in closed areas. Seems to make no difference.
Trouble, like you had, with faded folded edges before I had special, and expensive, shades installed

If it were me, I'd make some curtains to cover the fabric on the open shelving. It will fade in a sunny room. I keep mine in a closed closet or in drawers that shut tight as my room is also very sunny. We have window film that cuts down the damaging UV light, but it will still fade it eventually.

ok...thank you all for advice. I did go ahead and hang curtains until I can do something else crafty like shutters for doors or bifold doors for a door. Curtains will do for now.
thanks,
Susan

I keep all my fabric in plastic totes or in pillowcases in the closet.
I probably should have all in pillowcases. I've had one R. Kaufman
fade in the closet too...just along the folding line (before I started
using pillowcases).
