I sew over them when matching seams - use the flat-headed ones.

I do, but since I always use a quarter-inch foot, I have learned to pin with the sharp ends of the pins towards the edge of the fabric and they usually don't extend far enough to get hit by the needle.

I don't like to. It can ruin needles and pins. Sometimes, though, if trying to fit something together that is a little long on one side or a curve etc. I do - very slowly.

Not with my computerized machine!!! Although a broken needle or pin can be aggravating, if the machine's timing is knocked out, then it could mean a hefty repair bill and time in the shop.

I take the pins out, it's easier than replacing needles and any other type of damage.
