Maxine Rosenthal wrote for "One Block Wonder" and Bethany Reynolds wrote the "Stack and Whack" series. They are similar in some respects and you get varied results with both methods, depending on the original material that you select and how accurate you are in your sewing.There are lots of tutorials and pictures on the net.

OBW = One Block Wonder - made entirely of 1 fabric with large designs and many colors giving a kaleidoscope effect but really pretty - technique is much like Stack and Whack
Stack and Whack = a type of kaleidoscope quilt made by using a repeating pattern fabric and fussy cutting a minimum of 6 identical triangles and then positioning them with the same centers. You have to pin the fabric together exactly matching each pattern and it requires a minimum of 6 layers of the same repeating pattern.
