It is a very pretty quilt and looks very tedious.

Lynne, no need to apologize. Folks have been misspelling my name, for years; I'm used to it. I posted the spelling comment because a few folks had sent PMs to "Nessie" and needless to say, they went to some other QB member instead of me.

I made one with Deb Tucker's Hunter Star tool. Very easy. Goggle her - I love her tools and patterns. Also ck out her gallery for nice ideas. Love the scrappy batik quilt here.

I looked at the book, but I think that one is made the traditional way. The pattern that uses squares instead of those (difficult to work with) trapezoids is the single pattern linked earlier in the thread. Back up in the thread and you should find it.

Edit: Here is a link to her pattern that uses squares and half-square triangles (instead of trapezoids).

This would be my suggestion as well. Deb Tucker's tool and directions are terrific and well worth the expense. She even has videos on her site demonstrating the Hunter Star tool.

In the picture of the quilt here, it looks like they didn't quilt within any of the stars, or am I just not seeing it? If not, does this help highlight the stars?
