Thank you all for the great replies. I think I will put in the dryer on air with a clean damp towel and see what happens (and hope for the best). Then I'll use it in a quilt and wash later.

I've had great results washing batting inside of a pillowcase. If I remember right, I laid it out in the sun until it was almost dry, then tossed it in the dryer for a few minutes to fluff it up.
