I thought I would use up my polyester thread to practice free motion quilting but my machine won't sew right with it. Does anyone know why this is happening? Lorraine : :?:

Could it be your tension? Will be watching some other answers with you

What do you mean 'it won't sew right?' What does it do? Are you using the same thread in the bobbin? Have you cleaned your machine? If it is leaving loops on the bottom of the fabric it is tension. Clean your tension disks and rethread your machine before adjusting the tension. If the thread is breaking it could be the needle. There are so many things that make a difference. Poly thread should not be a problem. I often use it.

I use polyester thread without any problem. Are you threading the needle correctly. Ask me how I know about that.

Do you have the same thread in the bobbin also? Needle in correctly (I have put a needle in backwards and tried to sew) Good luck I use poly all the time.
