    Default Postage Stamp Quilt?

Can a person hand piece a postage stamp quilt, and it still work out ok? I ask because I like doing something simple and mindless in the evening or at night when I can't sleep while sitting in my chair.

    Thanks

I'm sure you can. Imagine doing it block-by-block --- 16 pieces, or 25 pieces, or 36 pieces per block ---- then put them all together. Sounds like a decent winter evening plan to me!

Would you use the same size for doing it by hand? Actually I need to add are they suppose to be cut 2" before sewing or cut 1 1/2" before sewing together?

Jan I like that block by block idea. It would make for a nice evening.

Often they are cut 1 1/2" starting squares, finish size 1", I've seen them made with 1" squares, finished at 1/2".... That one was Amazing!
Of course you can hand piece your postage stamp quilt! To me hand piecing would be Much easier than machine with those small pieces. If you need some hand piecing guidance visit Jinny Beyer's website, she hand pieces all of her fabulous masterpieces and has great tutorials, hints, tips and help to teach a person hand piecing.

They used to hand piece them all the time! Way back when, before we got spoiled.

Thank you everyone. You all have been very encouraging. I think I will begin one. Don't know when it will get finished, but it can't get finished if I don't start. lol..

I also will go to Jinny Beyer's website before I begin.
