Have you ever used the packaged pre-made binding? It's sold with the rick-rack. There's double fold, etc. If you have used it how did you like it?

I found it to be much stiffer and harder to work with than the binding I made myself. It took me awhile to get the hang of making binding myself but once you master it, it's so simple, and I think much cheaper in the long run. I actually have a small quilt I was binding with the premade and it was such a pain, I tossed it in the corner of my sewing room. Selkie (see avatar)loves it and she doesn't care that the binding is completely attached.

Just an FYI if anyone is interested.

There is also 100% cotton bias binding made by Moda (and maybe also P&B?) sold on spools by the yard.
I used it years ago when I was still terrified of cutting
Back then it only came in black.

Now it is available in a white range of colors, and sometimes they make available a spool to coordinate with a particular fabric collection.

These are cut 2.5" and prefolded to 1.25"-

Thanks. I didn't know that. I don't like the regular premade like the PP mentioned but a moda made one might be ok.

I think (not certain) that those are made from a poly/cotton blend.

The Moda ones are made from the same fabric that's on the bolt.

Thanks so much for the info (I was thrilled to know it came pre-made), and for where to find it! I went right to the site and ordered what I needed. So easy -- Thanks. I'm running late on a project and it's just what I need to catch up...

I have bought the Lollipops Premade binding before. http://www.popsbindings.com/ It's rolled not folded, no crease lines.
