It was the 'done thing' to wear your good pearls all the time.
My mother always wore her pearls, every day. Apparently, keeping them against the skin kept up the lustre. Hmmm maybe I should go pop them on.........

OMG that's funny! it's 4:00p and I haven't even brushed my hair yet! I woke up at 3:30 this morning thinking about the quilt I'm working on and couldn't go back to sleep! I have to say I wasn't crazy about the idea of the grandkids all geting hand held video games. Those things are a God send! I haven't had to leave the sewing room all day! Thank You Santa!

LOL! I was reading this and read the whole thing and thought to myself..."Where the heck did this sewing manual come from, then I saw it was from 1949 and laughed and laughed
