Sewing with Nancy had a segment recently where they created a hexagon quilt similar, well, exactly like this one but they used 1/2 square triangles to square it up instead of having a scalloped edge. The technique was great; no set-in seams. Google her shows and look for it. You'll be glad you did.

I also love the quilt - saw the flyer and my first thought was that I have not seen those fabrics in our Joann's. May have to go check out what they have now as it has been a couple of months since I was in there last.

To me it looks like it is pre printed fabric or some call it cheaters cloth. You purchase the amount you want and quilt it like you would any other quilt. Some of the pre printed fabric looks pieced once it is quilted. I have a Baltimore Sampler one that is the family favorite and I cut it apart & made my own pattern and quilted around the various flowers etc and it looks like it is hand appliqued.
