A sweet rememberance of your mom.

pmintpat 04-25-2011 08:06 AM

Never heard that before, but it is very clever. I just printed several copies, so that I could put a copy in each of my 'stash' boxes. Thanks.

["A stash is where a fabric without a project goes to wait."

I just read that quote to all of my stash, as some of it was getting impatience that it hadn't been used. Made the stash feel better.

Eileen De Ville 04-25-2011 09:07 AM

What a great memory. I agree, you should frame it and pass it down to family. It does not matter if it is original; it's so true and worthy of keeping. Thanks for sharing.

It would also be cute on a quilted piece of fabric and framed.
You just gave me something to say to my husband when he says i won't throw fabrics away

SydJus Nana 04-25-2011 10:01 AM

How awesome is that: May I reprint it to read:
"A stash is where a fabric without a project goes to wait."

God Bless your Mama.

Roberta 04-25-2011 11:32 AM

I love that saying. I think it would make a lovely embroidered, framed print in any sewing room.

Jammin' Jane 04-25-2011 11:36 AM

Great saying! Smart Mom!

Quiltinggma-nc 04-25-2011 11:42 AM

What a great find. It is nice having something in your Mom's handwriting. Like the saying too.

I agree, frame it. A great saying and since done in your mother's own writing, it's sure to warm your heart forever. So pleased you received boxes of her stuff that may now find their purpose.

barbt 04-25-2011 01:22 PM

I like that !

teacherbailey 04-25-2011 01:23 PM

I love it! I'd also say that a stash is a place to go to find forgotten treasures.....and a place to go shopping at 2 AM!

What a great saying. Thank you for sharing.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Wouldn't it be really cool to have a wall hanging quilted all around with a cross stitched block in the middle with that saying. Wish I was creative enough to figure out a pattern.

patimint 04-25-2011 03:55 PM

I love it, never heard it before. I am going to print it out to put on my quilting room wall. Thanks for sharing

jhoward 04-25-2011 04:09 PM

Thanks......I am sharing that with other quilters. : )

I love that saying, it is so perfect! cjmomma is so right! That little piece of paper would look great framed and hanging on the wall in your sewing room.

Rose Ann 04-25-2011 06:56 PM

The perfect definition of a "stash."

It may not be new to many of you, but I'd never heard the phrase and thought you might like it.
Happy Quilting!!

If that note is in her hand writing, I would frame it somehow. That quote is priceless.

Isn't it great to find such quirky funtastic things when you clean out stuff. It's perfect that your mother bothered to write it down. It must have meant something to her. I agree with the others, I would frame it for my sewing "stash" room.
