Exactly my point, I haven't used it until this week. I understand that repairs are usually only good for so many months, but I can't help but feel scammed, since I paid for a repair that wasn't actually done properly.
This is an older machine, but it was *not* cheap when it was bought, and it has tons of attatchements and feet and all those embroidery stitch cams. Also, the pedal does seem normal, the motor turns, but it doesn't make the needle go up and down anymore, and i'm barely able to move it with the wheel :( |
I would take it back where you had it repaired and see if they will stand behind the service being as it is the same problem,

Try taking the foot pedal apart and see if there is a loose or broken wire there, that happened to me with 2 different older machines, I refastened the wire and no more problems. Also had trouble with one older machine after the repair (?) person got the tension way too tight and the machine kept freezing up.

Last time it was fixed, did they tell you what was wrong ? Do you still have the paperwork ? Is it something you can do on your own ? How much was it to fix last time ? I would call them Monday morning explain what happened and see what they say. And then decide if you want to spend that money again if they won't take car of it for you. Good Luck !

Hey, it's useless sitting there not usable. Work on it yourself. You'll learn something and who knows, you will find the problem.

I'm going to call them back on Monday morning, and ask if they have a record of what was wrong with my machine... they usually have excellent service, and I even drove nearly an hour away to bring it to this shop, when I could have brought it to at least 30 different places in Montreal which are a whole lot closer that this place. |
seeing as its an older machine you could just take the cover off and look to see if you can see anything obviously wrong..i do that with my older non computerised machines and have saved myself time and money by fixing it myself!

Yeah, I guess it can't hurt too much to tinker with it, I'm pretty mechanically inclined, seeing as my job has me working on cars all day, lol. As long as I don't do anything that I can't undo after, I should be ok. That will be tomorrow's project.
I guess I just wish someone else had encountered that exact same problem... make it easier to diagnose and fix. |
Did you check to see if the bobbin winder is disengaged? If mine is not completely disengaged the machine won't sew.
