The bladed one made so much difference! I decided to keep quilting after I got it. I was getting pretty frustrated before that.

Im not sure if I like it or not. It doesnt have the guide. I think a guide would make a great bit of difference

Don't know about the clear view 1/4" foot for the Janome, I have the 1/4" foot that came with the machine. What is the differance between the two?

I'm making the Farmers Wife Sampler quilt and if I didn't have my 1/4" foot (with blade) I'd never get those small pieces to line up. I love it!

I'm not sure but you can look at all the different feet for Janome machines at http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...es/Accessories

It has a blade at l/4" on the side of the foot so all you have to do is keep the fabric bumped up against it. Then your seam is the same all the way through. Clear as mud?

Mine has the guide on the right side and I'm so spoiled, I can't imagine piecing without it. LOVE it.

For those of you who have the 1/4" foot with the side flange/blade...

When you are doing something like hst's where you are not sewing along the edge of the fabric, do you remove the foot and put a regular foot on? Or can you sew with the blade running ACROSS the fabric?

I hope you understand what I am trying to ask...LOL.
