I don't see a problem, either. I did learn, however, to ALWAYS take a pic of the quilt set up before I sew the blocks together. Even in my small cell phone pics, mistakes jump out and colors tell me that they have to be moved.

here is what i did, for those that can't see it.. the black squares should be yellow, and the yellow on the right side and bottom, should be black, just like the one for the boy..shadow effect.. :-(
i don't know what i was thinking..trying to get it done before hubby got home from his motorcycle trip to texas..probably.

i will leave it alone. maybe they won't notice. lol

there is no way i could take it apart..on the final setting of the sashing, i locked the stitches on the ends..to hard to take out.

thanks everyone for the praise and suggestions..

tomorrow, i will pin/baste it, the binding for both is ready..and i am tired of looking at t-shirts and yellow and blue..(thier school colors!)

Maybe sew some lace around the squares of the girls quilt to give is a more frilly look if you want some contrast -- or use a colored or metallic thread and do some type of embroidery border? They are both beautiful. I really like that shadow effect on the boys version. A friend asked me to make her a t-shirt quilt this fall after seeing my first attempt, which was just blocks seamed together with no sashing. I'm going to try your version. Very cool.

If you don't tell her, the recipient won't know! Great job!

I thought they looked great. I did't figure out what you were talking about until you explained it. Yes, the boy quilt is more awesome but maybe you can add yellow buttons to the little black squares of the girls quilt as if you had planned it that way? Maybe put same size black buttons on the opppisite corners?

I didn't notice either but Tartan does have a great idea for ya here. :-D

I would give them to them with love and keep anything you don't like to yourself. I think they're great.

Add some ric rac or ribbon to the girls. soem ribbon rosettes would be cute or even some fancy buttons. there are lots of embelishments you can add. I think they are both great the way they are.

I like this idea and don't tell that it was not the original plan. No one will ever know.
