I saw my first this morning, too. (Close to Boonville, Indiana!)

My kids love watching the hummingbird nest on Ustream!

What a treat. And delightful that she is so excited. I don't think I've ever seen one.

To be 86 and still so enthused about life is great to hear!!!
Nature is a wonderful gift to all of us :)

I just bought a new feeder. can't wait to see one here in SE PA.. Also love the gold finches.

I can hardly wait for the first hummingbird to make its appearance. I usually put out my feeder about the middle of April, but last year didn't see one until May 4. I enjoy the gold finches too.

I was sitting on the ground weeding in the flower bed yesterday when my first hummingbird nearly ran into me. My husband broke into laughter and said "he's trying to tell you to get out the feeders". I did that first thing this morning and it didn't take him 5 minutes to find it. My 87 year old mother lives in BC, Canada and it is always a contest between us to see who spots the first one. Mother will have dozens of the little ones lined up to use her feeders. We don't seem to have that many here but it can get pretty exciting sitting on the front porch and having them use the covered porch as a highway to get to the feeder. The most I have seen here at one time is 6. This will be our second summer in this house so maybe activity will pick up since they know where we are now.
