I don't think you need a border unless you want the quilt larger. I would do a scrappy binding with all the fabrics you used in the quilt.

I like it the way it is. I would finish as is and do a colored binding. :) Nice! I love that you did it in 3 hours!

very nice quilt,; 3 hours is amazing, it must be a fairly easy pattern but it does not look it. could you share the pattern ?

Very very pretty! You could add a border of all the batiks cut in brick sizes without the black between them.

Nice Quilt, What is the pattern????
|
Hi - loved the quilt and would like to make one with all my batik pieces. Could u pls give me sizes, etc.
Thanks and love to everyone for Christmas |
It looks a little unfinished to me too. A narrow border in a bright batik or several and an outer border in the black is another idea.

this looks like a great way to utilize some scraps. Great job. Thanks for sharing!

Where did you find this pattern?
The "pattern" came from a post on this site. I'll see if I can find it. All you do is cut 6-1/2" x 10-1/2" rectangles and edge the long side with 2-1/2" black strips. Then turn each block a quarter turn to sew together. I cut the batiks 6-1/2" WOF, the black 2-1/2" WOF. Sewed then cut into 10-1/2" segments. Very easy, very quick, but the results are elegant. I'm a fan of disappearing nine patch for a quick quilt, but this one has become my new favourite. |

I had insomnia last night, and instead of working on the numerous UFOs I have hanging around (or cleaning house), made a throw quilt top -- 3 hours from beginning to end. Now to decide whether to add another border in batik or just sandwich, quilt and bind as is. It is currently 44 x 66" - a decent size but looks a bit unfinished to me without a coloured border. Advice, anyone? I've decided this is a Christmas present so need to finish it by tomorrow.
