I think a piano key border using a little more of all the colorful fabrics would be nice too.

Now to decide whether to add another border in batik or just sandwich, quilt and bind as is. It is currently 44 x 66" - a decent size but looks a bit unfinished to me without a coloured border. Advice, anyone? I've decided this is a Christmas present so need to finish it by tomorrow.

Beautiful. With or without a border it will be beautiful.

Thank you everyone. I think the name is bricks. I found a pattern called that but it uses small blocks. I prefer the larger ones. http://www.maryquilts.com/wp-content...est-Bricks.pdf

That is very pretty, with or without another border!

What size are your blocks?

Beautiful! Great use of batiks!

I would make a pieced border using the same beautiful fabrics in your quilt. I think it would frame it nicely.

I would gladly receive it as a Christmas present. I love it.

Briget, it appears like you have used some of the materials I sent. I hope so. It is very nicely done but I do agree a colored border would be a great addition to this quilt. Even a narrow colorful border and then another black border would enhance it a lot. Great Job.
