365 quilt challenge

Is anyone following the 365 quilt challenge? I was following, but they had some trouble with the site and I missed a few days. The last pattern I got was on April 25. Has anyone else had a problem? I still get an Email every day, but I can't open them or print the pattern. I would contact the home, but I don't know how to. Any information or help would be appreciated. If this is posted in the wrong place, I apologize.
Sue

I don't know the site you are talking about but sounds like it would be fun.

QUILTNMO 06-16-2016 03:08 PM

sorry not doing it!

i'm not doing this one, but several friends on another quilt forum are & they've had no problems w the site ..no problems opening thier emails & printing patterns. perhaps it's the browser you are using? try changing browsers & it may help. good luck.
...would love to see what you've finished so far. she is going to do this again in 2017. exact same pattern & i have soooo loved what others have done so far, i think i might join in next year.

this the main website. Go down to contact us and I am sure they can help.

I'm not having any trouble opening the daily emails and pdfs. Do you use facebook? That's another way to get to the daily updates.

I'm up to date through June 1, but I've been away from my machine since then, and I keep seeing some pretty challenging and time consuming blocks -- it's going to be hard to catch up!

DOTTYMO 06-16-2016 09:27 PM

Sounds very challenging .

mindless 06-16-2016 09:38 PM

I've been doing this one too. And I got behind also. It's tough to catch up, but at least the blocks are bigger now. =)
The main site got hacked back in Mar or April, and they had to go to plan B for a couple of days, but then they got right back on track. I think they deleted the first 2 or 3 months, but the rest of the blocks are still available. I get them here:

Like roguequilter suggested, if this doesn't work, you could try a different browser or even the facebook page here:
https://www.facebook.com/365challengequiltblocks/
good luck!

ManiacQuilter2 06-17-2016 03:58 AM

Sorry, not doing it either! Just getting out of bed is enough challenge for me ! :)

Macybaby 06-17-2016 06:31 AM

I've got them all printed out. I'm caught up to the end of May, and have most of June cut but not sewn. I am doing my scrappy, but sticking with the light/dark colors for the blocks.

BTW - you DO NOT need to sign up to get the blocks, you only need to sign up if you want to get the daily email.

Snooze2978 06-17-2016 06:35 AM

I've been collecting them since the start and have not had any problems opening the PDF files. Just went to check on today's to make sure. Nice thing about this site is you can go back to download any you missed as sometimes I forget to go to their site daily. I keep a folder on my PC for "daily DL", "weekly DL" and of course "monthly DL". Plus I have a printed sheet for any collections of embroidery designs I'm saving so hopefully I don't miss any in the collection. From time to time I do miss them and have to hope they will put them out again for free.

Here's the website for anyone interested................

Oh no!! This is another "MUST DO!!" for me. Even with other projects, I think I can squeeze in one a day!! Thanks (I think) for showing. Its comes up just fine on my computer! I'd better stock up on printer ink!

Material Witness 06-17-2016 08:06 AM

Looks like a fun challenge to do as soon as I retire.

notmorecraft 06-17-2016 09:39 AM

I'm behind, so I've printed off up to 31 May need to spend time this weekend printing up to date.

ThimbleShy 06-18-2016 04:33 AM

I am doing it and have no problems with the site. Am now 5 days behind as I hurt my eye, and it is hard to catch up.
Fun to do the different blocks each day. If you can get back in the past ones are available and they are going to run it
again next year. Hope you get the problem fixed.

oksewglad 06-18-2016 04:52 AM

No problems here...I have a good start, but life is getting in the way! Downloading and saving the PDF's on a weekly basis. Using from my stash:)

Dakota Rose 06-18-2016 05:54 AM

Just went to the site you all have given and read the beginning information. I did not have time to download any of the patterns but it said they would be available for 3 months. Getting started now is there a way to go back and get the first ones? Some one mentioned that they are going to do it again next year. Is this like a rotating one that will go on and on? Love some of the ones I looked at but not fond of small blocks so hope they are not to small.

Jane Quilter 06-18-2016 06:01 AM

boy that is one beautiful quilt.

mdghall 06-18-2016 08:17 AM

She is planning to run this challenge again in 2017! If you start now you could be half way finished and then get the months you missed beginning in 2017.

I discovered this challenge in April. Someday, but not now. I have, however, downloaded ALL the patterns.

Macybaby 06-18-2016 04:25 PM

dakota rose, they are mostly 3" blocks. the ones we're working on now are the 6" group. There are a few larger corner blocks and the center medallion. Most of these blocks would be more suitable at 12" - lots and lots of tiny peices LOL!! One of the 6" blocks uses 40 HST. Right now I'm getting tired of flying geese!

Macybaby 06-19-2016 08:28 AM

I'm up to June 10th. This block is called 12 Crowns. Each "crown" has 11 pieces, plus there are four corner blocks. That adds up to 136 pieces - in a 6" block! (only 12 flying geese though)

One fun part about this, often the blocks start out easy and then using the same techniques, get more complicated, so by the time you get to one like this, you've had quite a bit of practice doing the methods on a larger scale.

I have been doing this challenge since January. I am caught up thru 6/13. I did have a couple days with some website problem, but all has been well since then. Try again maybe even with a different browser. I also have improved my piecing skills. I am doing mine in Reproductions.

oksewglad 07-01-2016 05:34 AM

Way to go giquilt....the blocks I have done are so sweet...must get back to sewing...

Today Added the 1st dark border to mine. Posted in the virtual quilt week-end Thread.

Macybaby 07-03-2016 02:30 PM

I was caught up the middle of june, now I'm behind again as I'm working on my Row by Row quilt. At least only a few more 6" blocks than back to the 3". Those smaller ones take so much less time to make. Often the 6" are like making 4 of the 3" blocks.

Though I have to admit I've learned a lot by doing this. Now when I got a Row that said "make pinwheels that finish 3"." I had a clue on what I needed to do!

I have had no trouble with the 365 Challenge site. So far, I am up to date with my blocks. Making those blocks with such tiny pieces and unusual sizes (e.g., 1 9/16") makes everything else seems simple. Some of the blocks have taken me as long as 4 hours to complete. Like Macybaby, I have learned so much by making the blocks and I am using up lots of scraps.

I agree. My piecing skills have gotten better. Can wait for the 3" blocks again too.
