You can buy 505 at any quilt shop. My personal experience with Sullivan's Basting spray is the smell.

There are two different sizes of 505. I bought a small can I found at a store for $12.75 thinking I was getting a great deal. A few weeks later, at the same store, I found the larger can for around $25. I see that someone else posted the smaller can is good for 3 queen size quilts; wonder what the larger can does?

The advantage I've heard for 505 over other brands is that it doesn't have an odor. Even so, you want to use it in a well-ventilated area.

Thanks so much. I was wondering how that would work. I now know I won't do that. Just trying to find easy ways to keep the quilt from shifting. I really appreciate your comment.

I only use 505 I have tryed other brands and they are a mess, so I buy more than one when I find it on sale.

I have some cans of Sullivan basting spray I got at Hancocks and it was much cheaper. Works great but it smells stronger than 505. The smell dissipates after a while.

I have never paid that much for it!!! Even the local quilt shop is cheaper than that. They are getting rediculous. Our's doesn't even keep their items stocked, so often I drive the 35 miles only to find they don't have any available. Now I only go in if I am in that area, otherwise I support online shops or local quilt shops.
Check out Connecting Threads.com. I got my last 2 cans there at a great buy.
Good luck
