When I use any basting spray, the nozzle will get gummy. I have read hints of using baby wipes in the sewing room. Yesterday I had used a wipe and then was beginning to use a new can of basting spray. Light-bulb moment, wipe the nozzle before use and no gummy buildup.

I store the cans upside down after I use it and I also turn the can upside down and spray it in the wastebasket to get the propelling gas after using it on the quilt backing. Only a small amount comes out and then it won't escape if you put the can in a glass (with the lid on) and then shake it very well when you are ready to spray it on the next quilt batting.

Not that I know of. I have some that is probably six or seven years old and it's fine.

I have a can of 505 that is a few years old. Just so happens I used it the other day. Some of it came out like silly string. Luckily I didn't need much for what I was doing.

I just purchased a can of 505 but haven't used it yet...the spray I had before was Web Bond and I liked it a lot but I couldn't find it at my LQS this last time.

I'm sorry, it's Spray n Bond basting spray. Not Heat n Bond. I have the Heat n Bond spray and it is not for basting.

I had a can of 505 that I hadn't used in years and it was empty. Haven't had that happen except with 505.

My can kind of exploded out. It just oozed out all over the end of my machine and all over the wood floor. It was a mess...don't know if I will buy any more.

I had a can that just stopped spraying half way through. Did the warm water soak of the nozzle. Nothing worked, but can was half full. Sent an email to the customer service email on the can (in the fine print). Got a quick response from them that they had had some defective nozzles, and they sent me a new can in the mail. Was happy with that service. I love 505.
I shop around for prices, but find the larger cans priced well at Amazon, Overstock-com and Walmart-com.

Usually when the nozzle is clogged, soaking in hot water for a while will clear it. If it's still clogged you can take a pin and poke it in the hole in the center of the nozzle and clean it out.
