Melinda in Tulsa 08-13-2010 02:24 PM

Mine was only 40% :(

Quilting Nana 08-13-2010 03:46 PM

I haven't gotten mine yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Can't wait.

craftmama 08-13-2010 04:13 PM

another 40% here. Better than nothing.

brookemarie19 08-13-2010 04:14 PM

Good for you!! I scratched mune, but it was just 40, so I won't be making a special drive out there. I would get an OTT light also as its a little easier to swing that price at 80% off

dyer804 08-13-2010 04:16 PM

Congratulations! My was only 40%! By something that you would think you can't afford but can use.

littlehud 08-13-2010 05:47 PM

Wow, congrats. I can't wait to see what you get.

skydiver70 08-13-2010 05:52 PM

I hadn't noticed mine had a scratch off, but it is just 40%. But be sure and read the exclusions...no irons, sewing machines, and lots of other things. They put that in fine print.

Davida 08-13-2010 05:59 PM

Wow I got all excited thinking maybe i had a 80% off. But no just 40%.I hate when they only let you use those coupons on reg priced items. It seems like everything is on sale so I can never find anything to use it on.

CarrieAnne 08-13-2010 06:00 PM

YEAAAAH! Now THAT is a coupon!!!!! Congrats, and cant wait to hear what you get!!!!!!!!

roseville rose 08-13-2010 08:38 PM

I couldn't wait to check mine out when I read about yours and I was shocked--70% off! Feels like Christmas! Not sure what to get as I don't need much but I'm sure I will find something!!

I agree. Carefully read the coupon. As a general rule, they have the same restrictions all the time...exclusions:

all patterns, irons, AccuQuilt Go!, Provo Craft electronic machines & Cricuit catridges, sewing machines and sewing machine department mercandise, all American Greeting products.

That being said, I would use it to treat yourself. Examples would be:

I would buying some more expensive material than you would normally buy and buy as much as you can afford or what is on one bolt. If you take two bolts of the same fabric, my experience has been that that constitutes 2 items and therefore you could only use your coupon on 1 item or

I would buy a material that you tend to use quite often. For example, light colored tone on tone, backing material, a solid colored material that would be incorporated repeatedly in your quilts such as white, black, blue, etc.

Whatever you use it for, I would try to get as much bang for my buck. Congrats on your 80% off coupon, mine was 50%

SassySewer53 08-13-2010 09:20 PM

How about Muslin or designer quilt fabrics? 2nd choice> Warm and Natural batting by the bolt.

Judie 08-13-2010 09:28 PM

All I got was a 40%.. that's okay.. I'm glad to know they really do actually have at least one 80% out there.. I sort of figured they just said they did.... not nice of me to think that way.. I'm mending my ways, I'll think better of them now.

tooMuchFabric 08-13-2010 09:49 PM

My flyer says 70% off.
I need a new cutting table, mine is the old style with 2 swing-out legs and missing one foot, and the one they have now is 4 swing-out legs. With all its feet lol

Julie in NM 08-14-2010 04:03 AM

OMG!!! Good for you. Mine is 40%. I want to make a kalidascope quilt so I would buy yardage of higher quatily than usually buy. I Agree with everyone else..buy your dream. Ott light is a good choice. I have two of their cutting tables and just love them. The right height to cut...no back strain. Do you need/want a low end machine to take to quilting classes? You go girl and tell us what you bought.

WE CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR!!!!

Mine was 40% too, & I also thought like you did :( I'm bad. But the next logical question is - is there only this one at 80%?? They couldn't possibly have very many out there, could they?

harrishwhippets 08-14-2010 04:19 AM

I was shocked to find mine had a 60, it's great to know they had 70 and 80, also. How many yards on a bolt of batting? I'm always having to scronge for money for that.

Honey 08-14-2010 05:07 AM

a bolt of extra wide muslin for backing!

wvdek 08-14-2010 05:37 AM

Depending on what the coupon is actually good for, I would buy a Bendable Light if they carried them or a very large cutting mat, or a roll of batting.

I am blessed that I need nothing but would like the above items.

thismomquilts 08-14-2010 05:45 AM

mine's only 50% but I'll take it! :) Enjoy your 80% off!

Got mine today and it is 60% off. Do they have light boxes? I need one of those. The Ott lights are on sale in the new flyer.

Cassews 08-14-2010 11:47 AM

Well at least ya all have a Jo-Ann's!! LOL they abruptly shut the one down in Grand Junction, CO. Mainly they lost their lease and are "supposedly" looking for a new store location. I did manage to get some good bargains due to their closing for sure, but I sure will miss Jo-Ann's with their closing. Many of the seniors in Grand Junction depended on it!!

I guess I will take to shopping online or going to Denver or Salt Lake City!

janb 08-14-2010 03:48 PM

Another 40%, but some is better than none, but I will be there on the 19th, before the coupon is good.....woe is me. But congrats to the lucky ones.

Ginger2010 08-14-2010 05:43 PM

Mine was 50% also! Rather have the 80% anytime. Congratulations on the 70 and 80% coupons! Lucky Ducks!!!

BUMMERS...40%...now I will do my mothers...
Peace and Blessings

I scratched off my mother's Joann sale paper and she got an 80% off coupon..which I am going to use. She rarely goes to Joann's..I am guessing that they put the 80's on sale papers that go to non users. I think a I will buy a new sewing cabinet or a whole bolt of warm and natural.

bjnicholson 08-16-2010 03:29 PM

Dang! Mine was "only" 40%.

Congratulations.
I still have not gotten mine.

Dee Dee 08-16-2010 03:43 PM

Wow! You scored! I've never known anyone to get an 80% off coupon before.

Pats8e8 08-16-2010 03:44 PM

I vote for batting also.

If you have a Hancock Fabrics they take JoAnn's coupons also. At least in my neck of the woods do.

costumegirl 08-16-2010 04:07 PM

That's great that some of you got 60, 70 & 80% off!!! That makes it worth finding something. Mine was 50%. I need some backing so this will come in handy! :)

Gramof6 08-16-2010 04:16 PM

:D WooHoo I got a 70% & my DD gave me her 50%. Thank You for starting this thread.

Sewze 08-17-2010 05:23 AM

I finally got mine in Monday's mail.....BoooHooo....it was only 50%. I'll use it for batting since I missed out on the 5.99 yd Bolt of W & N last week.

tdgiffin 08-17-2010 05:25 AM

Wow! I am so happy for you. Mine was for 40% but I will gladly take it.

Ripped on Scotch 08-17-2010 05:49 AM

Too bad the Ott lights and all the cutting mats are on sale already. I got my flyer yesterday but haven't scratched it yet... now I want to know what I got as well.

I didn't even see my flier and after I saw this thread I went a huntin'. I found it and I got 50% off. Thanks for starting this thread cuz I am sure I never would have looked for it (my mailer)

Congrats on 80%. Have a BLAST with what ever you buy. I would probably get a full bolt of luscious Batik fabric! :-D Please continue this thread but add in the subject line "look what I bought" page ... so we all can rejoice with you on your purchase. Have fun!!!

piepatch 08-18-2010 07:43 AM

The Rowenta Iron, Accucut and Ott Light are all good suggestions. Just be sure to get the most expensive thing they have that you have always wanted! :)
