Ok my flyer came yesterday and on the back it has a scratch off
sticker for a % off next weekend.
well mine is 80%!!!
now what should I get???
suggestions are welcomed!

lovequilts 08-13-2010 06:49 AM

Ott lite or a Rowena Iron

Grama Lehr 08-13-2010 06:50 AM

Accucut??

dkabasketlady 08-13-2010 06:50 AM

Batting!!! My scratch off was only 40%, not any different from the flyer so I won't be using this.

Rebecca VLQ 08-13-2010 06:53 AM

WOO! I bet any sort of machinery is off-limits...but if you can get a bolt of batting, do that. Or, if you want to make some draperies, visit the home section. Or, some sweet broadcloth. Or, a giant self-healing cutting mat.

Or a hand-quilting stand, that you can send to me. :D

Bluphrog 08-13-2010 06:54 AM

I've been looking at the Oliso irons. They're supposed to be good if you've had carpal tunnel syndrome.

mlaceruby 08-13-2010 06:56 AM

I buy my batting wholesale
the irons, patterns, machines and accucut are all off limits for the coupon.
but a large cutting mat my be the thing
or the OTT light
coupon doesnt mention those
and I can't see a thing in the evenings at my machine!

Pamela Artman 08-13-2010 06:58 AM

I'd buy a bolt of my favorite fabric! or more.... it covers 1 cut of fabric so you could ask for 50 yards!

cabbagepatchkid 08-13-2010 06:59 AM

This would be my choice, also :D . Is the coupon good for your whole order or just for one item?

mlaceruby 08-13-2010 07:01 AM

just one item
I have never really looked at these lights because they are expensive but 80% off I could swing one!

dforesee 08-13-2010 07:02 AM

Oooh! I think I'd just go and look until I found just the thing that caught my eye... it will be like Christmas!

sueisallaboutquilts 08-13-2010 07:04 AM

R U SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :D:D

dglvr 08-13-2010 07:04 AM

Trade ya. Mine is only 40%. I'm thinking a new pair of scissors would nice. Or a new Ott Light.

mlaceruby 08-13-2010 07:05 AM

I KNOW!!!
haven't bought alot there in the last few years and thought well this will be 40%

livenlearn124 08-13-2010 07:11 AM

<<<<~~~anxiously awaiting my flyer!

Scissor Queen 08-13-2010 07:14 AM

I would probably buy at least half a bolt of good muslin. I use a lot of it.

dotcomdtcm 08-13-2010 07:17 AM

Do you need a nice big cutting board?

Mine was only 40.

I think I would get the biggest and I mean biggest Olfa cutting board I could. If nothing else you can cut it into several different sized ones. Ooo. U could get a little lazy suzan n make ur on rotating one!

kristen0112 08-13-2010 07:20 AM

80% off one item or the whole enchilada??? If it's your whole purchase buy as much as you can afford. If only 1 item what's the most expensive new item you need - read the small print though it could exclude things like the Accucut and Cricuts

true4uca 08-13-2010 07:24 AM

I will be going to Yuma this coming winter for several months. How do I get a Joann's coupon.
Trudy

katsewnsew 08-13-2010 07:26 AM

I would get the most expensive Ott Lite with the Magnefier that they have!!!! You lucky Girl!!! Mine was only 40%. So what's new, my luck!

jackkip 08-13-2010 07:30 AM

Mine was only 40%. But glad to hear that there was actually an 80% coupon out there. wonder if that was the only one?

congrats and buy something that would normally be off limits due to the price. I know I would have fun trying to decided what to buy.

dawson.tracy35 08-13-2010 07:35 AM

The online coupons work for the accuquilt thingy. I had one in my online cart and put the coupon and it deducted it right off. I wound up not buying it, hubby says I don't need it. Booo on him
Tracy

mlaceruby 08-13-2010 07:40 AM

I have an accuquilt studio cutter so would not buy the GO! anyway.
but the small print on this coupon says no accuquilt or cricut products
it also says no patterns??? I wonder why? such a low priced item to exclude

mommaB 08-13-2010 07:41 AM

Hope mine's in the mailbox when I get home!!

Me too! I have an Ott Light, and would buy another one. One next to my sewing machine and one next to my chair when I do applique' or such.

If you don't mind me asking, where do you get your batting wholesale?

wichypoo 08-13-2010 07:42 AM

I bought a lite that is similiar to Ott at Big Lots andpaid 20 dollars I do love it. and I think it is just as good. Great coupon I think it would burn a hole in my purse until I used it.
Karen :-D

mlaceruby 08-13-2010 07:44 AM

Quilter's Dream batting
I have 3 bolts at the moment and need my hubby to make me a wall mount bar hanger for them.
I love the green, cotton and the wool!

sharon b 08-13-2010 07:54 AM

Probably because of the distribution deal with the pattern makers. They probably have a minimum price they can't sell below.

quilterguy27 08-13-2010 08:07 AM

WAAAAA! I didn't get a scratch off one. I got one, but it's only for 20%. For that I will probably just pitch it and wait for a 40% or 50% one. Or, maybe mine just hasn't come in the mail yet. I can hope. It will probably be like the lottery or something. My ship will come in and I will be at the train station. That would be my luck, LOL! Not sure what I'd get if I had an 80% off coupon. I'd have to go there and spend the day browsing thru everything to find just the right thing with calculator in tow. Enjoy and get something good. Can't wait to hear what.

80% ?!?!?!?!?!?   WOW!!!!
Carefully read the fine print. What dates is it good for? You would have to watch the ad carefully, since you can't use a coupon on something that is on sale. The coupons almost always exclude the big items, like Accuquilt and sewing machines.
Good for you! I can't wait to see what you got!
I hope I get a good coupon in my flier!

Is it for 20% your whole order? If so, that's a good deal, you can usually use those on things that are on sale, unless it says otherwise. I'd take a closer look! :D

Probably because of the distribution deal with the pattern makers. They probably have a minimum price they can't sell below.

Also, the patterns are usually on sale, for 10% off the publishers price (like the magazines), so you couldn't use a coupon anyways. :-(

Jamiestitcher62 08-13-2010 08:25 AM

Joann's starting to get to me, because those coupons are for regular priced stuff. Then they put everything on sale and the coupons become useless. Although I did get the huge cutting mat for next to nothing and I got one of those turntable Olfa mats which run about $70 at 40% off once.

BarbaraTX 08-13-2010 08:26 AM

How lucky! Mine was 50% off.

You can sign up to get their fliers sent to your home on their website.

jbud2 08-13-2010 08:33 AM

Mine is only 40% also. Someone suggestd Ott lights - they are on sale. I didn't read the coupon closely - can it be used on sale merchandise? They always seem to me!!
