i use the joann's when i have a 50 or even a 40% off coupon. they have the colored paisley and other prints or the muslins. some of the prints are $10-ish regular price and some higher. the muslins start lower. if there's a store near you, you also save on the shipping.

i buy the batting with the coupons also. i buy either queen or king size, depending on the size i need. if you need true 90" on all sides, you'll need a king sized batt.

You can also get the wide backing fabric at WalMart where they sell fabric. Or as another quilter suggested, just use a king size sheet. I get the 100% cotton ones in beautiful colors at WalMart. The lady who does my longarm quilting has never had a problem with it.

Thank you! I'm going to look at the sites provided. She wants a solid color so it will take some good looking... I will be sure to post pics of progress in my blog area! :)

I buy mine at JAs, or a sheet.
