I do it all the time - here in one quilt that I posted here on the site. I did put a small border around the entire thing to frame it

Absolutely, it is your quilt and you can do anything you want. I do this all the time. Lovely quilt by the way

My favorite quilting rule, "Your quilt, your rule".

I agree with AZ Jane. It will be fine. I make pillow covers for quilts I keep for myself.
I have made quilts like that before, no borders at the top or maybe a thin border. |
Make sense....who sees what's under the pillows anyway.
|
I have seen quilts with no border on one edge. If the quilt is used as a comforter, the no border edge can be the edge that is placed at the head of the bed.
|
I've done the same thing. It made the design show up better on the bed. Perfectly acceptable and desirable if the quilt shows better that way.
|
you are making the quilt - you can make it any way you want! And if you are putting it on a bed with pillows over the top, no one would even know it wasn't the original plan.
|
Totally acceptable !! Go for it.

Thank you for your question. I have a quilt top that I put 3 borders on but have the top to go and misplaced it so after reading the thoughts and opinions here I will get the backing put together and get it quilted.
