Mats are cheap and yes certain dies need certain size mats...But most are under 10.00 with Joann's Coupons.
I bought my whole unit with bonus dies and mats from Nancy's Notions...She ran a reg sale then I got an addition 17 percent off entire order...Plus the tumbler die, mat 10x10 and one of the sqs...Plus the reg package that comes with the machine....It was great...so you might wait and ck her site.

I thought I really wnated one but now I am not so sure of investing in this pricey thing.
Please advise.

I really love mine. I purchased mine when Joann's had them on sale back in April for $199.00 and a starter set came with it. Since then, I've purchased the 2 1/2 strip cutter and mat and also pick up a couple of dies that were marked clearance. I don't think you would necessarily need to purchase the the different mats that go with. Don't know if this helps, but hopefully it's a little insight for you. Have a great evening.

Their prices do seem somewhat cheaper, but didn't find the die I wanted there. Thank-you for your help.

Check Accuquilt.com site. That is where I bought mine. It was under the "try it" area when I bought it couple months ago. Those are dies that if it sells they will release to retailers. They change the "try it" section often so not sure if it's still there. The 4 1/2" is 4 cuts to a plate/die.

That is exactly what I want, but it's no longer there. If you hear or see of one somewhere would you PM me. Thank-you so much - Judy

Mats are even cheaper at Quilting-warehouse.com

AccuQuilt has a 4 1/2 inch strip cutter. You could get it, cut several layers of strips at once and then turn the strips perpendicular to the strip and cut the strips into 4 1/2 inch squares. You could cut quite a few in a very short time. It might be worth trying. In the pinsandneedles1 group that has been mentioned this die is listed at a decent price.

On AccuCut's web site you will find:

GO! Value Die (comes w/GO! Fabric Cutter, not included w/GO! Baby Cutter)
Item 55018
Regular Price: $29.99
Special Price: $23.99 (I just got this price e-mailed today in their sale flyer)

It includes (cut size):
• 2 triangles @ 2.5" W x 2.5"W
• 1 square @ 2.5"
• 1 square @ 4.5"

This is the only place they show a 4.5" (cut size) die. Hope this helps!

Here's the link directly to the die.

If you got the Baby "GO" you would not have gotten any dies with it, If you got the "GO" then you should have gotten the value die with it. I hope this helps. Well of course unless you bought it used then I wouldn't know what could or would come with it.

there is a multiple 4 1/2" die for the GO...it is one of the die to try group, but not offered thru accuquilt. The only place I know of is pinsandneedles1....a yahoo group. The moderator is a dealer and has it listed on a database there. I have ordered and am waiting for it.....perhaps other dealers now have it too.....

serenitybygrace 08-04-2011 06:28 PM

I bought my Accuquilt Go at a yard sale and a 2" strip cutter + the mat it takes. When I buy dies, I search the internet to find the least expensive price. I am happy to know of the pinsandneedles1 website on Yahoo and the other one. I have not tried those. I have gotten some at Fabric Hut. Best wishes in finding what you need.
I am looking for a 2 1/2 strip cutter. I am looking for a great price for that.

Geri B 08-05-2011 03:01 AM

yes, I too have had good luck, price wise, with fabric hut through amazon.com. It is my new "fun" gadget!!!!and it does save time when cutting many pieces...., but like all things it is not for anyone........

SUZAG 08-05-2011 04:06 AM

Check e-Bay, they always seem to have a lot of supplies.

I have an Accuquilt go and I love it. I use almost all of my dies constantly. If you are thinking about it you need to just take the plunge. It is AWESOME

carolaug 08-07-2011 02:49 PM

I bought the Go from Amazon it was the cheapest..dies from Amazon...no issues...the Studio only from Accuquilt and the Studio dies. The Go dies from Amazon and only the ones with free shipping. I went for sales for all dies both Studio and Go. I would not buy a Baby go...it small. I like the 6 1/2 and the 8 1/2 for the Go...

quiltymom 08-07-2011 03:09 PM

I still get mine cheaper at Ritz camera and quilting warehouse even mats are cheaper!!!
Great service all accuquilt products

JanieH 08-10-2011 04:36 PM

This thread was so timely for me. I had just talked to my girlfriend that I was going to try and buy an AccuQuilt Go at the Houston show. I found a lot of useful information from all your comments. Thanks!

I'm curious, you stated you ordered the 4.5 die from her. Was it the new 4.5 x 4.5 multiple die? I had my name on the list and was told she would ship when they got them and when I asked her how much - I was told around $20.00. I called as I hadn't received it yet and she didn't seem to have my name listed. Said she would check on it and call me back. I heard back and when I asked how much she told me $40.00.
