In the same spot, just finished my last Christmas wall hanging & now must clean off my kitchen table & put away ironing board. I do have a sewing room that is also my computor room, but way to small for everything.

I sew in the basement... lots of space until baby showers, Christmas tree, and Baptismal area confiscated. I am really getting itchy... haven't sewn in quite some time. No Christmas gifts this year. I will have to plan ahead next year.. Will be watching my new grandbaby girl three days a week.

Try a lint roller. I've used them before to pick up beads. You'll still have to pick up a few by hand but it should save you some time.

As soon as everyone is gone (Jan 1st) I am taking over the spare bedroom as my new sewing room. Cant wait!

So glad you'll get your own room!! My basement sewing room is all cleaned up because I had the Gkids yesterday for the gingerbread party. I would like to do a couple things but I AM NOT GOING TO MESS THE ROOM UP TILL AFTER CHRISTMAS!!! That is where we have our family brunch; about 17 of us. Then I will be able to sew again.

Your own room!! How fun is that. Share pictures when you're all moved in.

Heard a neat idea the other night at guild for those of you who sew in the dining room. If you have a hutch or other furniture in the dining that you use for dishes, linens, other dining room things and only find yourself getting those things out when you have holidays or company - which means your quilting is put away swap it out. Put your quilting which you have to get out and put away more often in the dining room furniture and put the dining room stuff in the closet where you put your quilting when it is company time.

After I heard that I thought - wow I should have thought about this is college.

I love company but sometimes I can't wait until they leave so I can get back to my projects. Maybe you can do some hand work while they are there.

Do you have or can you borrow a card table? Might be a way to save your sanity.

I know how you feel. I took a room for my sewing and my DH has gotten pushed to the dining room with his computers and games and helicopter he is putting together as a hobby. He had to put most away today for the holidays. We need a bigger house. Our grandson who is 12 lives with us. We thank the Lord Jesus we have a home. I went to a thrift store a few weeks ago and the lady working there told me they had so much xmas stuff because alot of people lost there homes and could not take everything with them.

I put mine away last Thursday and all I can think of is all the stuff I could be sewing right now. Congrats on your new sewing room for that you can wait until January for!
