OMG! DON'T undo do it and don't give it any more thought! With white batting, you'll never even notice it. The only thing I would check, is to be sure there's not a sliver of darker fabric that is a bit bigger than the white in the seam allowance and might show through. Then just carefully trim it off. Another don't - don't point this to everyone who admires your quilt when it's done! Pressing to the light is a GUIDELINE, not a rule, as many times the fabric needs to be pressed to the light side for construction reasons.

I wanted to let you know I think your quilt looks great. I love the layout and colors you have used. I am sorry you are upset about pressing to the white for one seam. I know how these things can bother us sometimes. I have had this happen many times. Luckily, most of the time, after a few days or weeks have passed, I don't feel as strongly about it and find I can live with it. You really do have to step back and take a look from 5 to 8 feet and it looks gorgeous from where I am standing.

I have patterns that sometimes have me press to the dark and sometimes to the light in the same pattern so they nest properly. When I look at those pressed to the light, if I see a bit of shadowning I will trim those that I notice and leave the rest.
I would not rip, I would be consistent and not worry about it. |

IF I would do that, I would snip at slightly different points along the seam line so that the weakened spots are staggered. |
I have been known to carefully cut and tack with a needle and thread to the dark...shhh! ;)

I love the quilt. Did the way the block lays perhaps cause you to press one of the seams to the white? I've done that already. Sometimes it just doesn't seem possible to iron to the dark without bumps. I've already pulled a block apart and ended up putting it back together the same way pressing to the white. But don't those things just Bug you? It's a beautiful quilt. The person you are making it for is very lucky. Good luck and press on!
