OK, I am trying not to get excited about this, because I think I've been spammed one too many times, but I was just notified that I won the Easy Quilts 2011 contest by Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting. I NEVER win ANYTHING. Like EVER. I got an e-mail this morning with the notification, and I e-mailed back pretty much saying I wasn't sure if it was for real or not but yes my address was correct, and this is the response I got back:

This is real…I understand your skepticism. I will send out your prizes today UPS. They should be there next week or so. When they arrive…then you can get excited! There are 5 fat quarter bundles from RJR and Thimbleberries, the Incredible Threadable Embroidery box of thread from Mediera, and a 14" sit-on lap quilting frame. They will arrive in 2 separate boxes. Enjoy!!

It was a 'one entry chosen out of all submitted'-type contest, with the title "Did you ever teach anyone to hand quilt". I taught my 10-year-old DD. :)

Funny thing is, when I told hubby he said "Too bad you didn't get the money instead", although he really was happy for me, and I smiled and thought to myself that I would never EVER spend $575 on myself, so this is a huge blessing for ME that I can't refuse. :)

Can you believe I have actually wanted one of these for a long time? It's a frame that has a little piece of wood that you sit on so there's no holding up or balancing the quilt on your lap as you hand quilt. Congratulations, how exciting!! It is sad that we live in a day and age when we must be skeptical about these kinds of emails, but at least this one seems to be legit. I guess you will know for sure when your packages arrive and like a previous poster said, they did not ask for personal info or for you to send money so sounds good to me!!
