I do a lot of charity quilt, and have tried tweaking the standard square in a square. I found this pattern and it is fun with two sides being 2" finished and the other two sides being 3" finished. Then it is fun to lay out the blocks rotating them until your happy with the final results. Try changing your blocks and see if you like the results. I TOO have EQ5 and it is so much fun to play with color and quilt designs. :)

This works great too. Simple patterns can look so amazing. No boring in this one!

I like both your quilts, but I think I like the blue quilt best. Maybe it is because blue is one of my favorite colors.
