The paper I like best is the manilla paper drawing tablet available at the dollar store. I'll cut the whole tablet down to fit my printer so the paper is read to go when needed.

For larger HST's, I use the 2 square, diagonal line method.

I use these too, but use tracing paper. Yes I have to cut a half inch off the side and some off the top, but it's very easy to tear. If I only need a few I carefully cut the strip for the number I need.

You could search this board or the internet for half square triangles and find the different ways to make these. There are several different ways. I use the two square and diagonal seams with a bit of a trim.

Thank you Jan in VA! I've wanted to try a method that made 8 or more at a time and your explanation and diagram were the best I've seen. I'm doing this next time for sure!!

I saw a demonstration last week of a new ruler that makes multiple sizes of hst by drawing on the lines and sewing on others. It is called rulerrevolution.com the creator is Patti Nethery they seem expensive but make many sizes and would pay for themselves if you make hst blocks frequently.
