Alum. Foil replacing batting in doll quilts.

Within the past week, I saw a post about using aluminium foil to replace batting in doll quilts. I thought I could go back to it the next day, but couldn't find it the next day.
I would appreciate it if whoever posted it the first time would send me a pm about it. Sometimes I don't get back to topics I really want to know about before they are deleted.
It might be something our guild could do with our project with The Salvation Army.
Thanks! Mariah

Don't understand why aluminum foil would be a good choice?

Posts don't get deleted unless they go off topic in an objectionable way. I searched for this and couldn't find anything. Are you sure it was on this forum? It does sound like a strange choice to me - difficult to wash, not soft but crinkly - but quilters sometimes try strange things.

I found this nut doesn't give much info. Read through the posts.

Should that say "but" instead of "nut"?

Sorry about the typo. It should be 'but', not 'nut'

The only reason I can think of to use foil would be for a doll house quilt, so that you can conform the quilt to the dollhouse bed. I can't think of any reason to use it in a quilt that will be used by a child for a doll.

I found one reference to using an insulated batting and the word " foil" substance in the insulation was used.logic tells me this is a misinterpretation of something. Alumnimum foil is not batting. Will the original poster tell us why this might be used in quilts for the Salvation Army.

Members of our classes wrap their cut pieces and. After sewing in foil. It prevents frayiNg and their projects are wonderful. Also keeps creasing down.
