Yes, read the instructions "and" check for corrections with the pattern.
Hopefully, you will find the extra fabric you need. If not, post an SOS here. I was surprised to find a correction on a pattern for a bag this morning. I'm taking the class on Thursday. |
I too found out the hard way to read all the instructions first and do the exact fabric layout even if it doesn't seem right to my liking and looks like there is a lot of fabric waste. I hope the LQS has the fabric you need.

I feel your pain! I have a bad habit of buying a kit (rarely) and then not working on it for years--and about 1/2 the time fine a fabric issue way too late. Working on one now that the directions for cutting were bit confusing and they way they had you cut it meant that there was just no way to get all pieces cut--despite there being ample scraps left.

I was making a braid quilt this week trying to get my mojo back again....figured this was an easy pattern to do right? Was down to my second last strip and cut it at 6 inches instead of the required 7 inches. Grrr! Had to rummage through all my small scraps stash for just enough red and white pieces to add into the quilt to have the required number of blocks to finish. Not the smartest thing I've ever done....but it will all work out in the end...hopefully.
