Your not alone I did that a couple of months back and felt the best way out was to backstitch so don't feel bad. I can remember how much it hurt so I'm winching here with you. Take care. Sue

My mother worked in a sewing factory and sewed into her finger one time. Had to go to the ER since it was work related. Over the years, she was not the only one either. Have you had a tetanus shot?

I've done it! Right through my nail on my index finger. I would have stopped to cuss up a storm but I didn't want to bleed all over my quilt and my bedroom.

And the funny thing is, I remember when my grandmother, a gifted seamstress, was working on my aunt-to-be's wedding dress and she did the same thing (I would have been about 5). I'm sure she hustled off quickly too so that she wouldn't bleed on the white fabric.

So I'm guessing if you sew enough, it happens. :) But I got laughed at at the LQS when I revealed this during "Show and Tell."

I hope you heal soon. I almost sewed my once, but luckily didn't. I know, as accident prone as I am, my day is coming.

So I pulled it out, then it started bleeding. Thank God it did not hit the bone or I would have needed help it get free. At least it was a clean wound. Now it is just numb, after two days.

I did the very same thing a couple of months ago. i got the needle out alright and did not get blood on the piece I was sewing. Boy it smarts badly when to do that. I hope you are alright and the pain passes quickly.

Bless you . . . I'm hurting just reading about it. Hope it heals quickly and completely! Be more careful next time.

I've never done that but I have had my hand and arm go through the wringer of a wringer washer years ago. That was painful enough. I can't imagine a needle and then to have to back stitch. OUCH (:((
