My husband has time to hit the yard sales more that I do but I go when I can. He loves looking for old west junk  This morning he went to a sale that had some bags of fabric. Not knowing exactly what I use he just bought it all ....for 5.00!!! He came home with about 10 Walmart bags stuffed tight! I went thru it and most of it was new yardage or large scraps I can use....some will go in my next sale. :) BUT...when I got to the very last bag in the very bottom was a old brown paper sack. I was almost scared to stick my hand in! I pulled out what you see in the pictures below. Need I say more!! :!:

adrianlee 07-23-2009 06:25 AM

Wow! Great hubby to get these for you. Here is my story: I went to a fabric yard sale a few years ago. My sister and her hubby hit the yards almost every weekend. She saw a this one in the newspaper yard sale postings and told me about this one, about 28 miles from where I live. It was to die-for, older lady moving and her grandkids are helping with the yard sale, helping downsize the fabrics she collected. $5 a plastic bag full, all you could stuff into a Walmart size bag. A few scraps but most were from a yard to 3 yards. I stuffed $25 dollars worth of great material. I wasn't the only fabric-crazed lady there, several other die-hard-get-up-at-the-crack-of-dawn were there too. Even some sewing tools. Just as I was loading my treasures into the car, the older lady came out and she was yelling at her grandkids. They had taken a lot from her "keep pile" and some of it had already sold and left. Oh, she was upset with those kids. Me? I got quickly out of Dodge City.

What a find, I think it was destined to fall into a quilters hands. I find sewing notions and some great quilting material at my local thrift store .25 to .50 cents apiece(you can tell when someone has donated from an estate sale)but never anything like that, gorgeous!

brendadawg 07-23-2009 12:56 PM

I think I'll come go "yard-sailing" with you!
