I get the opportunity to work for money or fabric. I am still undecided. I am a nanny during the day so I do get a pay cheque. My hubby thinks maybe I should work for fabric because it is not cheap, and I can order it from her disributors by the bolt at cost, so I get it wayyyyyyy cheaper. lol!

Awesome - what a great opportunity! Enjoy!!

Congratulations! I wouldn't dare work in a fabric store......I would owe them at the end of the week lol.

That is a very important job--and don't you forget it. What would they do without us?

Well, it is a great opportunity but, don't plan on bringing home much except fabric. I worked in a quilt store after I retired from teaching and really didn't make any money! But, I have a great stash! LOL

quilt3311 10-26-2010 01:25 PM

I'd never have a paycheck, I'd take it all in fabric--grin
Have fun at the shop.

Congratulations! I will be in Calgary in March. You have given me a new destination. Just love the fabric stores in Alberta. Only one tax!! (In my eyes that justifies whatever I spend on fabric while I am there! Right?)

IBQUILTIN 10-26-2010 04:51 PM

How exciting. I would never get home with a pay check. It would be spent before I could get out the door

penski 10-26-2010 06:00 PM

congratulations !!! my hubby keeps telling me i should get a job at a fabric store !! he says i would feel right at home with all the fabric that i buy from them

fishnlady 10-26-2010 06:01 PM

Oh that is such a wonderful thing. I can only imagine how I would not bring home a paycheck but instead a stack of fabric every payday. LOL So happy for you.

katied772 10-26-2010 07:15 PM

A quilt fabric store would be a great place to work. Bet you spend your paycheck there!

grandma sue 10-26-2010 07:55 PM

I worked at a quilt shop part time and the owner said I was her favorite employee - I bought so much fabric with my discount, I usually ended up owing her money on payday! Great way to build my stash, though (as if it needed any additions). But then again, I was working to support my habit.

glenda5253 10-26-2010 10:46 PM

Oh how exciting...and to get fabric at cost too!

deltadawn 10-26-2010 11:10 PM

Congratulations

twinkie 10-27-2010 12:35 AM

Great for you. I am happy that you will finally get to rebuild your stash.

iltoaz 10-27-2010 06:26 AM

Seems to me you will be getting the best deal - a job you love and fabric. Way to go!

Latrinka 10-27-2010 07:39 AM

That would be great, workin in a fabric store! You go girl!

quiltingcousin 10-27-2010 07:46 AM

Sounds like you need a t-shirt saying "Will Work for Fabric" cuz you surely will be taking home bags of fabric rather than $'s. Sign me, been there and done that! One thing for sure....you will never have been a happier camper.

auntiehenno 10-27-2010 08:00 AM

Wonderful, sew happy for you!!!!

Dreaming 10-27-2010 12:08 PM

Congratulations, I'm eating my heart out. Enjoy!!

Aully 01-11-2011 08:23 AM

I may start this in April for Wednesday evenings helping in a class. :)

CraftyGardenMom 01-11-2011 08:38 AM

Oh I'd definitely work for the fabric if I was getting it at cost and already have a regular paycheck job, LOL. Then again, I'd STILL end up owing her money!

Unless the pay is really good, the deal of buying fabric at wholesale straight from supplier sounds as if that would be better deal than being paid a small salary. Good luck!
