Last year I found a lovely LQS close to work. I thought "how convenient" while DH mentioned that it could be quite the temptation. Well - no worries there because it closed shop last week. The owners retired and I wish them well. But.... Bummer!
So I was gearing up to take a trip to the other LQS in Sacramento. Tonight, as I was cleaning out my SPAM folder, I found an email from that store that they are out of business as well. The owner needs to take care of her health and I wish her well. But still... Double-bummer! Now I went from Madquilter to Sadquilter. |
Sorry to hear of your lost.

Oh no!! That IS a bummer :(
|
Seems like there are fewer and fewer quilt shops, at least in this part of the world! Guess it is the economy/online shops, but how sad! I have one nice shop about 45 minutes away, after that is is 1 1/2- 2 hr drive...

unfortunately this will be the scene played out all across the country this year....too many online shops and not enough foot traffic in most places, and rising shipping, and other costs are not helping!
|
Crud. I hadn't heard that two local stores had closed! Major bummer indeed.

That's what your stash if for!!LOL!!

I understand times are tough, but I can't believe a shop can't stay open in an area like Sacramento.
Sorry for the double whammy. Maybe someone will be inspired to open up a new store in that area and you'll be back in business. :) |
That is a double bummer!!Hope you find another shop soon, because even with a stash we still need to have a fix now and then.
