Any Ideas About the Age of This Top?

2 Attachment(s)
My daughter bought this at a flea market, so I have no history about it. A few of the fabrics feel a little like blends, a few feel like silk, but most are regular cotton. It is hand-pieced, and I am hand-quilting it. Does anyone recognize the prints as belonging to a certain decade?

Thanks for your help! :)

I am by far no expert but the shade of green and florals look like 40's to 50's. Nice find

Looks like feed sacks to me - but they would not be smooth or blends. HTH

I think 30's or 40's. It will be beautiful when you get it quilted. Please send pictures when you finish in.

I purchased some of those fabrics in the 90's, but they were called 30's prints. Some could be original Feedsack fabrics or 30's-40's Reproductions sold at a later time. You can Google 30's fabrics to see some of the prints.

ditto on 30's to 40's. Very typical prints.

THANK YOU so much for hand quilting it!!! It will be a treasure when done.

ETA - somewhere in heaven is a quilter saying "Finally! it is going to be finished!! Hallelujah!"

It looks like these fabrics were collected from clothing made between 1920 and 1950. Not all clothing was cotton, hence the few that feel more silky or like blends. They most likely collected the fabrics and then made the quilt, during the 1950's, probably.

What an awesome find! And with your hand quilting this will be a real treasure.

I think Sewbizgirl is close. I was born in '29 and I had dresses a lot like the material when I was 5 and 6.
