Just saw your samples. I like the half star outer border best but the inner half star borderS, To make it rectangular, takes away from the center star IMHO.

Okay. Thank you all for those thoughts. I sent the pictures to the bride and groom and they don't like the half star border at all (design #1). They think that's too busy. Since those really don't fit right at the corners and there's just no way to 'make them fit', that's probably a good thing. They like the spear points or the ribbons. I decided to draw in some quilting ideas to the ribbons design and this is what I've come up with so far.

Yes, I know that I will have to lay the star out on the bed and see where these added elements fall. And, finding out about a dust ruffle, etc., would be good, too.

I might throw out all 3 designs and start fresh. Who knows? This designing stuff is hard.
