me and only make a pattern one time. Its' crazy, but in anything I do I only do it one time. I don't like making a quilt more than once even with different fabrics. You would think it would be easier to make it the second time, but I like the challenge of always trying a new pattern.
When I was working I was the same way, I chose jobs that always were different, like working on contracts, always different customers, designs, engineers etc. |
I love the challenge of a new pattern. Even when I know I will never make a pattern... I look at it... & try to draft it out!
I am exactly the same way - always looking for the next challenge - in quilting, work, everything.
I figure that I have a limited amount of time to try as many things as I can - duplication is not allowed! :D |
I think the only ones that I repeat are baby quilts. The rest are a one time thing.
No, I'm just the opposite. If I conquer a pattern I keep doing it until everyone else is sick of it and they tell me, "it's time to try something new."
There are several ladies in my group who are like you. Once is enough and if they have leftover blocks they go into the orphan block box for someone else to use. So you are not alone. Enjoy! |
once only - just like I very seldom re-read a book. So many patterns, so many books to try!
no, i like to gravitate to comfortable. it takes me a long time to gain a new skill. but, the world needs people like you and people like me. have fun.
I usually will make a pattern more then once. I like to try new fabric colors in the same pattern. Right now I'm doing lots of four patch posy quilts. I never know how they will look until I'm done.
I repeat some patterns specifically to use up scraps.
I do usually like the next challenge .. one exception... Log cabin... its just so perfect for the what seems like alot if skinny scraps I tend to have.
