You can still get them on-line and print them off. I never get them in the mail either, and everytime I go to the store, they are out of the flyers that have the coupons. You can get the current flyer on-line and print the coupon.

I'm picky...Most of what I got were some oriental prints ,made in Japan or Korea...the quality is wonderful...I got a lot of Quilters Flannel, some baby flannels...I put lots back because I didn't like the feel of them...

If you stick with their premium quilting fabrics you can't go wrong-they are currently 30% off (plus another 10% with the coupon). However, I have used their Keepsake Calico fabrics for years, and unless you are making an heirloom or special quilt, those fabrics are just fine. Many of the people on this board are still developing their skills (and many are still beginners, and for the price (especially when on sale-usually 40% off) the Keepsake Calico is still a good fabric. The only thing I noticed with some of them is that the very light colors might be a little see-thru (especially when paired with a dark-make sure the dark 1/4" seam doesn't show thru the light), but really, for the everyday quilt, for the price, it is fine. Just my opinion!

A new Jo-ann in Pueblo in the mall,2 hours away

Chatfield 11-09-2010 10:03 PM

penski 11-09-2010 10:57 PM

wow you did good ! i will have to check it out !! just got my new booklet from them in the mail today

cosyquilter 11-10-2010 07:17 AM

Just about doubled my stash at Joann's...not that my stash is all that big to begin with, but great prices. yes, you do have to watch the quality, but that's true anywhere, about anything.

perry 11-10-2010 07:31 AM

No, can't print coper does not work. So off to Hobbie Lobbie I go.

Sandra-P 11-10-2010 07:34 AM

Thank you for sharing. I will have to go and check it out.

Got there and they had boocoo's (sp)of fabric on sale. red tag 3.00, 4.00 and 5.00. all was 50% off the red tag price. Spent 165.00 and may go back tomorrow.
Really some pretty nice fabric.
Will try to find camera and take pic. later.

Was visitng DSIL in W VA for a few days and we stopped at local Joanns that had 6.99 fabric red tagged at $3 per yd. with a sign for 50% off. I doubled checked with fabric cutter that final price would be 1.50, and answer was Yes! I'm on a No Buying Fabric mode right now until I use up some of my big stash but couldn't pass up 6 1/2 yds. of a white with pastel dots for less than $10. This fabric will work as background and/or backing for the scrappy pastel quilts I have planned. Home today and a trip to my local Joann's this week to see how much more light or neutral fabrics I can find at that 1.50 price. May in Jersey

nena 11-10-2010 08:01 AM

Catrancher, Thanks for sharing. I have said that all my life and did not where it came from. Knew it was a bunch though.LOL

BettyGee 11-10-2010 08:03 AM

Love when Jo-Ann's has their sales, but as many have said you do have to watch the quality. If I am making a quilt for a child that is going to see some rough and tough duty I don't use top quality. Lately I have, to my dismay, started becoming a fabric "snob." I love Windham, Makower, RJR and Markham. Have recently purchased some panels that are gorgeous, now to find the hours in the day to do something with them. Found some Windham "Hanky" fabric on Ebay at a fantastic price and it is beautiful. I never thought of Ebay for fabric, but there it was.

Hey Perry, I am in the same boat as you..I signed up to get mailed coupons/book months ago..Then I went back and signed up again- still no coupons...Then I went to joann.com and wrote them a quick email complaining ( I was immediately sent 2 coupons in the mail in a reg white envelope lol..But still no book in the mail....
Then my cousin called them and they said there had been a major computor crash of some sort = addys had been lost..And gave the main phone # to call to rectify this....Which now I can't find the number lol...But, heads up, you may need to look into it..

I haven't heard about a booklet. Have only received flyers. Happy to meet another "fabricholic", my other passion is bead weaving so I have a bead stash and a fabric stash. My husband maintains that the house is slowly settling into the ground with all the extra weight.

snipforfun 11-10-2010 10:26 AM

Lots of fabric sales this time of the year because all the new stuff ordered from Houston will be showing up soon and the stores need the room.

karate lady 11-10-2010 10:44 AM

I was just at joanns yesterday looking for thread. Some sales but not like yours, Last week they had a good one though a lot of 40% off, but I didn't see any $3. or $4. lots. I did get a bunch of fall colors to make a quilt. I love the oranges, rusts, etc.

Lucio 11-10-2010 11:00 AM

The LA Times today said that that the price of cotton had gone up 100% in the last year and that should translate into a 30% increase in prices after the first of the year. I have to get out there and do some serious shopping for jeans!

Dee 11-10-2010 12:18 PM

I heard that anything cotton is going up.

tumrub 11-10-2010 03:07 PM

Hi my name is tumrub I went to joann's last week & picked up about 6 pieces of pink ribbon material to make myself a breast cancer quilt.WOW what great prices.

I've done that before, but by the time I get to go again, the coupon is expired. It was too frustrating. Now I just hope for the sales when I go into the store.

You don't know how lucky you guys are I live in Hawaii and we have a Ben Franklin that carries no fabric and the fabric here is expensive to say the least.

Twisted Quilter 11-11-2010 06:32 AM

Sounds like Joann's is having a great sale, guess I'll have to breakdown and go. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

AnneT 11-11-2010 06:43 AM

You don't know how lucky you guys are, do you? I live in Germany and we have neither JoAnns, nor Michaels nor Hobby Lobby and the fabric here is expensive to say the least  .
But I surely do not begrudge you, b/c if you indulge yourself in fabric, we will see pics of some beautiful quilts in the future :D .

So you guys better stop buying and starts sewing NOW , just kidding...

Have fun and quilting hugs from Germany,
Anne

I went shopping this weekend at Joanns to get those covered metal buttons for a quilted pillow I am making and they had lots of notions on sale. My hubby was with me and he fallowed me around like a puppy and every time I picked up something he would tell me that you don't need that! Next time I go shopping I am going to drop him off at Manards first. I am going back there on Friday to pick up those things I need as I have depleated my stash of buttons, thread, etc etc.

lol OMG...I hate that...but taking mine w/ me I never know, sometimes he is like that or he is very generous and encouraging.
I did use my 20% off full purchase coupon on monday.
all fabric pieces 1/2 yd and patterns $1.00 each

Twisted Quilter 11-11-2010 08:16 AM

I'm getting anxious!

Deborah12687 11-11-2010 08:22 AM

It would be fun to go shopping with you to Joann's but not sure yet if I can go as I sold a quilt to someone and they haven't paid for it yet. Been thinking of taking a swing up to St Cloud for a day and then go east over to Blaine and some other fabric stores that I know of.

You can just sign up at the registers...they send booklets with great coupons a couple time a month...You have to get on their mailing list.

chickadeee55 11-13-2010 03:01 PM

JoAnn's, yep, I was on line there about an hour ago, was planning on spending 40.00 for charms and ended up with a 100.00 worth (of course that was the sale pricing, so I should feel good, right! LOL)
Good deals.

booklady 11-13-2010 03:19 PM

I just came home from our JoAnn's and could not believe that store! I thought I was in a junk shop! Nothing was straight, fabric hanging out everywhere, boxes of half opened items all over the aisles. It was a mess! Made me feel bad so I bought the muslin I needed and got out. And as always, someone was having trouble with a coupon!! I just wish I had an alternative.

My local Joann's used to be like that so I stopped shopping there. I couldn't pass up the bargins everyone here was getting so I took a chance last week and went. I was pleasantly suprised that it has changed for the better, must have a new manager.

Maureen 11-15-2010 01:14 PM

We have a Jo-Ann in our city that is very neat although it is a smaller one. I recently went to one in another town, because it was a nice big one, and it was a mess like you said. I couldn't believe the way the bolts were put back on the shelves and everything was just messy. I went to a Hancocks once that was a mess and I never went back. I won't go to that other Jo-Anns either. I just went to Maine and was at some beautiful Local Quilt Shops.

kclausing 11-15-2010 01:19 PM

Hmmm.... may have to stop after work, there is one across the street. I need some fleece anyway. Making some xmas charity quilts and found that kids love it when fleece or minky is used as the backing for their quilts.

Here is the fabric I bought for me. I have already taken my sisters to her , but it was the same amount. Just different fabric. We can trade around if we want.
