Do you have any photos of your quilts with the scrappy tumblers. Would love to see them. Sounds so interesting. I have also purchased accuquilt and would love to try this.

Using Triangles on a Roll, I've mis-counted and made too many. But will use them in a crazy quilt eventually.

well not always. I can't wait for the cutting to be done so I kind of watch the amount.

Oh yeah! last time I did cutting for a scrap quilt, I got at least 3, maybe 4...
I completed one,a scrap 4 patch; I'm just finishing the top on another, a log cabin; and started a triple Irish chain; if there's more left, the 4th will be a nine patch .All will be queen size. I decided it'll be a series.... just like the professionals. LOL!!!!!

Been there, done that. When I made the E.Burns summer porch, one of green and amber I didn't want to have to stop and cut more of something while placing the triangles. I think that there are enough leftover squares and triangles cut for another quilt.

I've done that too. Cut, get carried away, then sew and discover there are enough blocks for 2 quilts. I did that with a Log Cabin and several blocks left over from an Irish Chain. I put the left over blocks in a pizza box and when I get enough I'll make an Orphan quilt. Now that quilt would be great for the RV, or donate should someone have a house fire, or community help box.

I am glad I am not alone as I have mis-read and cut our wrong size triangles (what can I do with those?), I have cut out too many squares - you name it and i have done it.Fortunately, I did not run out of material and that is a miracle in itself. I always buy an extra 1/4 yard or round off the yardage so I think that is what saves me when I goof up. I hesitate to cut up scraps into lengths or square as I always think that I may need that fabric for something that is not that size, so I have lots of odd sized remnants. Someday I will use them.......

I, too, make a lot of scrappy quilts. I have a lot of fairly small pieces of material. To try to clean up my sewing room, I will frequently spend several days just cutting. I cut those small pieces of fabric into the sizes I use most frequently, 4 1/2, 3 1/2, and 2 1/2 inch squares and 2 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch strips. Any strips less than 2 1/2 inches wide are saved for string blocks and the odd size scraps for crumb blocks. With tubs of those size pieces already cut, I can whip up a quilt in jig time when the need arises. Some times, I will sew 9 patch or 4 patch blocks without a p-articular quilt in mind, but I'll have a head start when I need a quilt in a hurry, like for a baby shower.
