I have done 2 cross stitch style wall quilts. Bigger squares would make bigger quilts! I didn`t use a foundation, though, as the site suggested. Just pieced the squares using a cross stitch pattern as my guide.

I used it to make DD a quilt of her Chocolate Lab. She loved it, it turned out really well.

Glad to hear it works! |
That is one FUN site to look through.
I've been fascinated for years by those pictures made up of smaller picture squares; this is kind of similar. Maybe more like a colour wash. Another one on the wish list! |

Could you please show us the original picture ... and then the quilt? I didn't use a pattern maker, just put a grid on a photocopy of the photo, and went blindly at this project ........... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-114217-1.htm |

Yikes.

A large quilt in shades of tan and beige was shown here from a quilt show of some sort and I wondered how it had been done. Thanks for the site and an answer. I'd never seen one done before that one. They are really amazing.

Well I guess you could, but with all the terrific patterns out there why would you drive yourself bonkers with this?
