I got the Accuquilt Go on Ebay last year with about 7 dies and love it. As I get a few extra dollars I go to Joann's where the dies are 25% off. I now have about 13-15 dies (never counted) and I love it! I had thought about the Baby but I decided to go with the larger GO since I Santa for only $$ last year. I have noticed a decrease in prices on Ebay & different sites. Join the Yahoo group Sewitsforsale. They have them for sale alot. I have bought both dies & a sewing machine off there with no problem.

I bought the Baby Go for the applique dies. I basically make Linus quilts. The little figure dies are perfect for decorating the Linus quilts. I recently got into making the simple little "pillowcase" style dresses for little girls in places like Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The appliques are great for those also. I really don't care about wasting fabric. I am constantly picking up bargins and my stash is large enough that my family will probably load up our pickup truck and haul it to the dump when I am gone.

the regular GO is a much better buy, watch the sales. I saw one for $349 but it had a lot of dies with it. that makes it a better buy. I have one and love it. I cut an entire drunkards path queen sized quilt in less than 2 hours and all the curves were perfect.

I don't have an accuquilt - because I think the same thing you do about the waste and extra cutting of fabric to fit the cutter pad.

I think it would be great for letters and unique shapes...but I don't use them in my sewing/quilting...at least for now.

I have one and love it! I share it with my friends. They buy dies that they want to use and it helps built up an inventory. We are going to do a Rose of Sharon retreat in December. Each of us will see what we can create different from the others. should be fun!

How many layers of fabric can be cut at once?

I have the Go and Go Baby. I enjoy using them. I have 1/4" waste, much less then cutting wrong or ruler slipping when using a rotary cutter. It saves me hours of cutting time so it is worth it to me. I had a queen size Double Wedding Ring quilt top cut in less then an hour. It would have been faster but I used a planned color scheme so had to keep the fabric in the right order.

My personal advice would be to forego the Baby Accugo and get the regular one, you can use so many more dies on the regular sized one. I use mine all the time, but the dies a pricey...and addictive! I used my Accu Go to cut out all the pieces in my Humane Society weenie dog quilt, actually it was only two different dies used. They save a lot of time and I often make quilts for the public...you can also get a lot of precision cut pieces from seemingly useless bits of scraps, which is fantastic. I love mine, use it a lot and have never had any trouble with it. Good luck in your decision.

They say 8 but I stay at 4 or 5 most of the time. You have to be careful...you can end up with WAY more triangles or whatnot than you will ever use! Don't aske me how I know this! :)

I have the Go and my girlfriend has the baby. We love them. They are very precise and and cut off the dog ears. My friend and I share our dies. You can use the dies to cut out freezer paper pieces and use the these pieces for hand applique. The company has great customer support.
