Just keep in mind that your 2nd version in that post does not have identical (quarter) blocks like the original does, or the 1st version above it.

Doesn't matter if that's what you and your son choose, but you'd be piecing 2 different quarter block designs instead of one.

Love the second design with the black centers changed just a little. You can use whichever one YOU like better, I just wanted you to be aware of the design in the first draft.

...and I appreciate it! Although I wouldn't have ever noticed it, it is definitely there, and I wouldn't want it rendered in some 'permanent' fashion like this that was open to interpretation (even if there was no intent that it was even placed there in the first place). Once my eyes were opened to it, it absolutely becomes a point of contention. Out it goes.
