http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtuGUB-jsH8 Here are a couple of links to help you explain it to her. The You Tube video seems very helpful. If she is looking for a very simple starter project you might want to consider some the pre-smocked fabrics for sale right now. The have beautiful spring colors. One straight seam and two straps and you'd have a cute sundress. Good luck! |
i wow i love this pattern, i hav made alot of these! I will look for the pattern for you!!

I wish I would have known this 38 - 40 yr.s ago when my girls were little. Of course, then they didn't have all the pretty pillowcases they have now.

I have made several pillowcase dresses for my granddaughters(4 granddaughters) and my daughter gave me the pattern. I just looked on line and I found 2 sites that might help you- www.jenleheny.com/pillowcase-dress-instructions and www.everythingsewing.net/pillowcase_dress_how_to.htm. I even made my own pillowcases so that I could make my granddaughters dresses out of the same material. Hope this helps.

Those are cute - I made my daughters tee shirt dresses. Simply gather then sew fabric to the bottom of a plain tee shirt and embellish the tee shirt as desired.

My daughter is making them for her 8 mos. old daughter. My sweet little grand daughter.
She is doing a great job and they are a good project to begin sewing. |
