Pillowcase Dresses for Haiti orphans
#1

Hey! I haven't been around in a long time, but I told this woman, Jami Sutter, that I would help spread the word about this project.
The link she sent me for the tutorial is here http://freshlypicked.blogspot.com/20...-tutorial.html
and her email address, if you want more information, is [email protected]
I read about her donation drive for Haiti orphans on her blog here http://jamiinaction.blogspot.com/200...e-dresses.html
She said feel free to contact her if you are interested in participating.
Thanks!

I went to Goodwill yesterday to look for colorful pillowcases. I found a bunch of them! I already made up one dress, so if anyone is confused by the tutorial, please PM me and I can clarify it.
I made a little matching purse and a pocket on the dress with the trimmed off parts.

Jami Sutter has been an advocate for the children of Haiti for many years. Her efforts are even more important now. We can help by making pillowcase dresses.
Here is where to send them:

Please let her know that the word has been sent to many church service organizations and quilt guilds. My faith group donates 50-75 pillowcases to inner city camps each year....we will turn our attention to this wonderful project and contact our local stores to call attention to this worth while project. One of our focuses is to teach women to do projects to help themselves too-its our experience that they love to participate.
A needle and some thread creates magic in them.
Much appreciation for giving us a tangible way to help with love.

we have a guy locally who travels to haiti twice a year and guilds make the dresses so he can take them with him. Our guild make 225 dress for the orphanage he goes to. The little girls can't attend church or school if they have only a t-shirt to wear....such a good project.
